Hi Guys

A lot of people have asked what all the stream ranks are and how long does it take to get them.
So I have provided this information below.

Currently these are not really used anywhere.
What I really wanted to get from the community was, how do they want to use this information to better improve the viewer experience and how DeepBot can help!

So THATS what those are...

I love it! My only suggestion is maybe a lil less ranks, and name changes. not a big fan of military ranking names. but damn good stuff!

i like the rank system i think it is a very awesome feature... but i would make a couple suggestions.. mabey allow for the ranks to be changed to a different name.. and the second one being instead of hours spent in the stream what about making it the points you have? i think that would be interesting... say you have 5k points your rank #10 and you spend 3k leaving you with 2k your now rank #4 or something you know..... ( hope that one makes sense... it does in my head.. if not i can explain better)

just some suggestions though man.

Actually I understand ranks as a way, how to tell how long is that viewer with you.. Dude can spend all his points, but being a corporal means he's longer with you than some private, also with 0 points :)
Both got zero points, second does have much more xp..

Also, do you guys prefer to show ranks or hours ?
Me, personally, ranks, because hours, atleast for me:
I am a newcomer, I just started getting xp/points and I see someone with I dunno, 500+ hours.. = OMG How am I gonna compete to that ? I am out :) Rank ? Noone's rly know how many hours exactly(!) are they missing till levelup, so it's not "I am gonna stay here 15 more minutes till I get the level, but I'll just stay here, getting xp.."

Does it make sense ? :)

I really do like this feature and so far I can see that viewers are eager to be the best and highest rank. What I would love to see would be to be able to customize the rank names and hours, so it fits more to your kind of stream.

Also, to answer woodydaocas' question, I also prefer seeing the rank name instead of the hours.

Currently in the Closed Beta, the objective is to focus development efforts on new features.

Once the project nears completion, I will work on creating customization options on existing features. So in short, this is not possible currently, but will be once the bot is almost ready for release!

Will these ranks be modifiable by the streamer? I.E. Can we change the rank name, # of ranks, # of hours required to reach rank

This may be added in the future but is not currently on the to-do list.

I have a question:
How can I differentiate people that are actually watching the stream from the ones that are present just in the chat? In there a way to exclude those not watching the stream (being just in chat) from getting the points?

Twitch does not monitor or expose this information, so there is no way for the bot to know if the users are actually watching. It can only track the total number of people watching and the users connected to the chat servers.

Can a feature be added to this that if the viewer hits a certain "rank" they could unlock some abilities? An example would be if the viewer hits "corporal" rank they would have the ability to post links, when they hit "sergeant" rank they have the ability to post in all caps. And so on and so on as the viewer ranks up?

I like this idea too and have an additional idea.
I would like it, if you wright a command in the chat, that a soundfile is in the stream that would be awesome

I really like the idea of customizing ranks and the flexibility given to the streamer to decide how people are granted. I think it is another method that the streamers can engage their viewers on a deeper level.  I would like to see the following abilities implemented.

1) Be able to control the name of the ranks.
2) Be able to control how many ranks there are in total.
3) Be able to control the requirements for each rank.
4) when someone reaches a new rank a display graphic and audio. (similar to a follow or subscribe notification.)
5) a command to display all ranks and requirements to achieve those ranks.
6) a method of restricting access to certain commands based on ranks.

I know this is a long list of requests.  I appreciate all of your efforts on this amazing software that you have developed.

I went and edited the text file with the ranks I wanted. It works just fine. The only crazy thing is that I am at the lowest rank, I would like to not have any rank I guess, or be able to put myself at the highest rank.

Hello!

After having my DB ported over from ModBot I was sad to see ranks are tied to hours watched and not points. Everyone starts at recruit, even with 20,000 points. Please consider making rank related to points of a user as it's one of the main reasons I wanted to get DeepBot!

Hi!

I was currently trying to make a command and I realised it wasn't here. Is there a way I can do !addcmd !rankup You are @streamrank@ and have @hrstolevelup@ hours to the next rank which is @?@. Is there a way ? could show the users next rank?

My custom ranks are not working, dunno why. This is what I have done.
- I changed my ranks.txt file
- I have VIP
- I restarted deepbot (close/open application)

And still it says that at level 1 I am a recruiter (which it shouldn't be since I changed level 1 rank).

Ranks are now built in. You can set them up/load them from the legacy text file in your master settings. Config Tab>Gear (Upper Right Corner)>User Rank Tab on the left

Hi there,
I'm using ranks to let my viewers grow a beard. Every point is 1mm length.
You start as a babyface and will finally become a wizard at max rank.

At the moment I'm just using 14 ranks.
After #14 I'm just repeating the last one.
42 is a beautiful number but i would like to set the count of ranks by myself.

At first the beard grew very fast with 1mm per minute but i like the ability to set multipliers to 0.1
This helps getting the grow rate more realistic without viewers missing a point just because they only watched 9 min.

Custom commans are great.
Viewers can trim an maintain there beards.
This increases there VIP-Status and let the beards grow faster ^^

I would like to add some custom commands similar to the nightbot command API.
There I call my own PHP-scripts to generate answers.
I would love to program my own games, where viewers can exchange there points (beards)

BTW the !bankheist is very good. As a German streamer  I like to edit every single String.
Now it's a beardheist and you fight gigantic louses ^^

That's it for me. Maybe you found some inspiration.
