Title: Using Deepbot with Multiple Streamers for Music
Post by: Dariath on August 27, 2015, 11:45:25 PM
Hey all. So, I run a channel called DreamCoil.tv. We're 4 streamers that stream on the same channel, and with each other. I wanted a way to be able to let them hear the music with me, as it kinda stinks to see song requests but not hear it. When I attempted to use it between two computers at the same time, sometimes requests would go to me, and sometimes it would go to the other. So my question is is there a way for that to work? Nightbot usually works fine with multiple people listening to it, but having people switch between two !request formats (1 for me, and 1 for the other three) is kinda confusing. Thanks!

So only have one person run the bot, then have them use this: http://deepbot.deep.sg/YouTubePlayerv4.html?ip=[DeepBot Computer IP Here] (Use IPv4 for local hosting computer. Or the computer's external IP for across the internet.)

Unless you are all on the same local network, you will give them that link with your IP at the end.

Example: http://deepbot.deep.sg/YouTubePlayerv4.html?ip=76.231.193.121

They can basically hear the music thru their browser as it plays, so everyone hears it at the same time.

Ooo. Interesting. I'll test that out this evening. It'd be kinda cool if there was build in song listings and controls for it. Kinda like a plug.dj. Just shower thoughts. Thanks a lot!

Ya, I don't think you need to port forward.

Howdy again. So I tested it last night, but the issue I had was that it stayed on the 10 second stars video and wouldn't play any of the requested songs. I put my v4 IP after the URL as instructed.

Are you hosting the bot locally?

Yes. I checked it in a browser on my main PC (which hosts the bot), and on a PC downstairs. The PC upstairs with the bot is connected to a router, which is then connected to a cable modem. The PC downstairs is connected directly to the modem.

Okay, on the PC with deepbot, Press Windows Button + R > Type cmd.exe > Type ipconfig > Grab IPv4 address > Enter that at the end on your second computer.

Howdy again. Still having an issue seeing the player on other PCs. My router is in bridge mode,  and when I attempt to view the bot stream it works with my internal IP (10.0.0 etc), but when I use my public IP it shows nothing. Port 3337 is open on the modem. Any ideas on this?

If on the same network, you use the internal ip. Public IP is for remote connections.

Yeah, the issue is both the internal and external IPs won't show any video. I gave the IP to my friend who lives with me, and both showed no stream. It works if *I* watch it in browser on the internal IP, but not the external IP. Also, I wanted to be able to share it with 2 other people who are not on the same network, so getting it to work with my public IP is needed. Sorry about being a pest!

Maybe a firewall is blocking or even windows built in firewall.

I opened port 3337 in Windows Firewall. That seemed to fix it! Thanks so much for your help!

So, new issue! Heh. Deep bot is now and then randomly going to the next song halfway through a song. Also, Deep Bot is also skipping songs on it's own. For example, just now after it finished the last song, it skipped two songs and went to the song after that. I have 2 people listening to the music outside of Deep Bot if that means anything, but it shouldn't matter as it's only sending the music out and not affected by outside sources (I would assume). It didn't skip the song afterwards, however. Any ideas on the issue?

Who request the song? Mods/host have more power over others.

Same user requested the songs that got skipped.

If you skip the song on the external Player then it's also skipped in the bot

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, no one is touching the internal or external player. It will just randomly skip 1 or 2 songs.

If you refresh the video player page in something like chrome when it plays the first video "Deepbot stars" it skips to the next do song

The page itself isn't being refreshed. It's being left open until the next song plays. It's also going from one song to the next one in queue, no gaps in terms of hitting the end of a playlist.

I did some testing my end with 4 windows open on main pc and 4 open on second pc and if i load the page up with no songs in the playlist then load a song it will not skip 2 songs or more.

so try and load all the pages everywhere you want it to be like this so the first video has ended.

I'm not sure what the difference is between us, then (appreciate you testing it!). It was happening again last night. It didn't do it consistently in the beginning, but by the end it was almost auto skipping a song each time a new song came on. Only people connected was me and my friend/roommate (from same network). My PC was restarted earlier as well, so fresh start. I have Twitch VODs, but I don't know what that would do for us except show the song requests.

Does the browser player have any affect on the bot player i.e. send anything back to the bot? It only occurs when someone else is watching via browser player.

well lets say you add a song on the playlist and have it play in the player in the bot and add a second song when you load the player in say chrome it will skip the song on both. what i think is happening is that one of the windows you have open is not loading the player correct when it plays the first clip the stars and will keep skipping to new one as that is what it is ment to do. this could be due to that video is blocked for that person so it will skip that song.

Hm. Interesting theory. Only issue is it's happening with using two different PC's watching. Any ideas on how to solve it? I don't think it's on my end, as my net is usually solid and one of the PC's is on the same network.
