Help/Support / Re: Bot Errors/Crashing? Please read this first

If on latest version of studio, you need to update the websocket plugin that OBS Studio uses for Deepbot to control it.

I am using the latest version of studio (19.0.3) and the latest version of obs-websocket (4.0.0), is there is a newer obs-websocket version? Is this advice to fix the main issue I referred to, ie the crash i posted the logs for or the minor issue I mentioned with the server error?. I did reinstall the obs web socket even though it was the same version and as noted originally (which it looks like you missed) the remote commands are working fine. I have no problem with the remote function.

I was trying to get assistance on the bot crashing which was the 1st part of my original message, does the log give any indication on what deepbot was trying to do when it crashed?

On scanning previous posts I shouldnt have posted 2 problems in the same post as often when people have done this in the past 1 issue is overlooked altogether.

I have been usimng deepbot for 2.5 years without any issues had 2 crashes now in the last 24 hours while the stream was live. I didnt see exactly what caused it each time I just noticed the bot not working when I saw people trying to use commands that didnt trigger. Both errors are the same with different time stamps.. The error is as follows:

Code: [Select]
01 Jul 01:27:07,361 - 0.10.3.4: Crashed Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
01 Jul 01:27:07,365 - 0.10.3.4: Crashed    at DeepBot.Main.#Wq()
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbackDo(ThreadMethodEntry tme)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbackHelper(Object obj)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean preserveSyncCtx)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state, Boolean preserveSyncCtx)
at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(ExecutionContext executionContext, ContextCallback callback, Object state)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallback(ThreadMethodEntry tme)
   at System.Windows.Forms.Control.InvokeMarshaledCallbacks()

Checking my chat log from the bot and the chatty client I use show the only command being used near the point of the crash was one that toggles a source on in Obs Studio via the remote feature (This is something I have been using fine for well over a year). This command was run about 2 minutes before the log entry for the crash so not sure if its related.

Incidently I also notice the following in the error log frequently:

Code: [Select]
01 Jul 01:10:13,761 - Error -Unable to log stream info.
Version : 0.10.3.4
Message : The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
Stack Trace :
at System.Net.WebClient.UploadValues(Uri address, String method, NameValueCollection data)
   at System.Net.WebClient.UploadValues(String address, NameValueCollection data)
   at DeepBot.DeepBotAPI.DeepBotStreamInfo.#lgb.#hlb(Object )

When I check my chat logs I see periodical viewerstats entries, I am guessing the error is the bot not being able to pass this info back to the deepbot server?

This is minor, the main one is the former, as after crashing I need to restart both the Bot and OBS Studio in order to get the remote fuinctionality back which as you can imagine is a pain mid stream.

Definitely looks like a deepbot server side issue causing this, unfortunately deepbot servers having a problkem also means hte bot will not even connect to twitch which is a tad strange unless the bot routes or verifies your twitch data with the deepbot servers before passing it to twitch.

Help/Support / Re: Variable for Custom User Info Tabs

That would definitely work as a temporary measure, can add customisation once it becomes a custom variable in the future :)

Setting the command up is the easy part, having a variable for the Info section is what is currently missing. If there WAS a variable for those info tabs in the example I gave I would change the !invite command I currently have so that a user just types "!invite" and it replies in chat with there stored username. Currently users have to type "!invite username" each time and people often forget.

At the end of the day, what purpose do the 3 custom information lines have when they arent accessible anywhere other than right clicking a user in the User Database and selecting Edit User. Not practical to do that while streaming.

Any change of variables being added for those fields?

I am guessing as those custom info tabs are only viewable via the bot interface that they were intended to store more private information which I get.

However what you suggest is exactly what I would like to see.

For one of my main games I have people ask in chat for an invite, I use those info tabs to store in game name and have to ask them to either type there name each time chat or tab to the bot to check. With this functionality the user can just type "!invite" and the bot will output in chat the name stored.

Help/Support / Variable for Custom User Info Tabs
« on: August 22, 2015, 12:16:14 PM »
Since the user info lines were added for us to have custom user variables I have been using them for users to store there in game names for a couple different games so I can match twitch names to players.

I would like to have a command that a user can run where by it outputs the information they store. As an example If I set Info 1 Name set to Steam Account with the command !steam for Info 1 Command when a user enteres "!steam handle" it stores there steam name under there own User Settings. If I edit a user I can see there Steam Handle in the username but I dont believe there is any custom variables to be able to read this information.

Is there a variable for this that I have missed? Ideally I want to use it so when a user joins me in a game he types the command and my bot will whisper his in game name. However without the custom variable this isnt possible.

The info tabs I am referring to were added to the bot back in April, changelog line as follows.

* Added three info sections for users to be able to save custom info (e.g. steam id's, LoL id's etc)
