Bug Reports / constant crash issue
« on: October 01, 2015, 06:29:14 AM »
hey,

so I can't run my deepbot at all. It started crashing on startup after one of the latest patches and after checking forums I figured that I needed to run the updater manually, only that crashed as well. so I checked the crash log and which pointed to a system.core error. I tried updating .net framework per the suggested fix for this and still the same issue.

I've now backed up my files, and removed and clean installed deepbot, this finally got deepbot to launch! however, as soon as I try hitting connect, it crashes again. below is the crash report:

01 Oct 11:17:16,531 - 0.8.0.6: Crashed Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec85d7bea7798e, Retargetable=Yes' or one of its dependencies. The given assembly name or codebase was invalid. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131047)

trying to run any updates manually or through the main interface leads to this crash report:

I'm at a loss as to what to do as I can't get deepbot running at all atm

Implemented / Re: Allow Multiple votes in Polls

OMG! just realized that this went into the latest update! thank you sooooo much, my community loves you for giving us point voting.

I was so happy to see multi voting in the latest release, this update made me crack a massive smile and I couldn't stop yabbering on to my viewers about it =)

Hey there,

I would really love a few small tweaks to the current stream poll system. Viewers in my channel can vote on the game they want to see me play next and currently they only get a single vote each using as many or as little points as I decide for the price of that one vote. I would love to have the option to run a poll where they can either vote multiple times up to a set cap, say 10 times each at a cost of 10 points per vote. Or just straight point voting where I can set the maximum number of points they can use to vote towards one of the options.

Allowing members to use their points for voting means that those that follow the stream more regularly will have more points to spend and therefore are able to influence voting more heavily than people new to the stream.

I've attached a quick SS of a mock up with additional options to illustrate what I mean with allowing multiple votes.

on second look at this, I would also suggest allowing a min/max cap on the number of points one person can contribute. Would be great if this could become a feature.

Polls already exist within DeepBot. Please see under Stream Games -> Stream Poll

Edit: Perhaps I should have created a new thread as this thread kind of aims towards just the poll system that's currently in place.

The feature I would like to see added is the ability for viewers to vote using just their points.

example:

Tom has 500 points and votes for option 1 using 300 of his points.
Carey only has 50 points and contributes all 50 to option 2.
Nick has 100 points and decides to put all of it on option 2.

The poll ends and option 1 has 300 points voted towards it while option 2 has 150 points, making option 1 the winner. Even though more people voted on option 2, option 1 is the winner based on the number of points that players have spent on that option.

As it stands currently, people can only vote once and it takes a set amount of points from each person. So the option that gets the most votes wins, as opposed to the option with the most points spent on it.
