Getting Deepbot to work on a Linux VPS?
« on: January 11, 2015, 07:45:02 PM »
So this is probably a long shot asking it here, but I figured I could give it a go anyways.

I used to run Deepbot on a Windows VPS, however this cost me nearly $15 per month and is simply too much for me to upkeep. Now I have a Linux VPS which only costs $2.50, but the problem is, I don't know how to set everything up. I don't have any experience at all with Linux, but from what I get, I need some sort of VNC program to get Remote Desktop Connection to work (which is what I'm aiming at).

Here's a screenshot of the webpanel, as far as I'm aware, this is the only way I can interact with the server for now:

From what I understand, the only way I can get files onto the server is by using KVM, which greets me with this interface:

I couldn't figure out how to send files to the server from my computer, all commands that I did manage to find through Google ended up not working.

The only thing I need to get done is make the server compatible with my Windows PC's RDP, so if there's an easier way to do that, feel free to tell me.

Thanks in advance.

DeepBot can currently only run on windows, so if you do get the files into the vps, when you try to run it, you will only be greeted with errors, if DeepBot doesn't crash as soon as you run it.

What about Wine, would that not work?

I don't think so.  DeepBot uses resources that are only on windows.  I don't know how wine works on Linux, but I have tried to get DeepBot to run on Mac using wine, and it just crashes as soon as you run it.
