high CPU usage
« on: February 06, 2015, 08:21:37 PM »
Hi Support, did a Google search and saw a few threads but none with a answer so here goes..

When Deepbot is running, my CPU is staying at a constantly clocked 3.8ghz, it doesn't downclock to 1.2ghz as it normally does when I'm idle, and usage on one core seem to be high, is this normal?
My system specs are i7 3930K 3.8ghz, X79, 64GB ram, 3 way SLI, CPU only overclocked to turbo frequency. Any ideas?

Thanks

I'll monitor this on my system. Of course it would be better if someone with a similar setup could check to see if this is the same with them.

With the quick test I did (On my AMD 8350) the CPU did spike to 7% usage on startup (Went to 13% when loading the music tab) but hovered around 2-4% when idle. I can't tell if it is using a single core or if it is using multiple on Windows 7 without downloading an additional program I guess so I can't confirm if it running on a single core.

To get an analysis on this could anyone reading this topic reply with their basic system specs and the average CPU usage while idle.

Thanks,

Thanks Dante, I have a couple of workstations laying around, one is a 2500K and another i5-4200U, I'll transfer the bot over and run some tests, I'll post some results in a day or so.

been a while, forgot to update this, been busy with other matters stream related...  I ended up building a rig just for streaming and moved the bot along with it to that rig, problem still exist but now it's not a issue since its a rig dedicated to streaming with much CPU horse power to spare.

using latest drivers, i7 3770K and the CPU usage single core is still running at approximatly 80% usage, staying at a constantly clocked 3.5ghz. Still if possible, would like to get the usage down if at all possible, just to help extend the longevity of the CPU :)

EDIT: derp derp derp derp !!! Minimizing the deepbot app actually lowers the CPU usuage, going to run with that for a while and see if anything weird pops up.  :o
