Invisible Tabs

I bought this for a friend who is running Windows 8. The tabs with all the commands is just a invisible bar. If he click along the invisible bar he can access the different tabs, but the tabs don't appear it's just a invisible line. Any ideas?

Try the following:

- Run as admin
- Install/Repair .NET Framework 4.5.2: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=42642
- Install/Repair Visual C++ Redistributable (x86/x64, don't worry about arm one): http://www.microsoft.com/en-sg/download/details.aspx?id=30679
