New To Deepbot - Lots of Confusion
« on: May 27, 2017, 01:31:54 PM »
Hey all,

I just finished all the initial signs up and downloads for Deepbot as Revlo is being shut down in a few weeks, and I've got a few questions.

Why do my loyalty point settings (the timer config and class multipliers) keep resetting every time I open the bot? There a way to stop it from doing so?
How do I make somebody a VIP?
Is there a way for me to tell the bot to give a user points through a chat command?
Chat commands...what are the default ones? I can't seem to make any of them work, except the only that tells me my loyalty currency.

I'll likely have more questions sooner or later, is there a place I can quickly talk to people about them or is this the best place?

Thanks ~

Running Deepbot as admin?
Tried disconnecting on the config tab before closing deepbot? (This makes sure everything is properly saved.)

You can make someone VIP via User database tab > Right click and edit user. You can do it via donations and subscribing to you. You can also make a command that the viewer can run to become VIP.

You can use the built in command: !add 100 UserNameHere. Or make your own command with @editpoints@ (which silently edits their points).

They all work, but some have requirements. Like !requestsong needs song requests enabled. http://wiki.deepbot.tv/bot_commands

Is there a way to make it so VIP doesn't expire for people?

Also, is there any form of a reward system for the points?

Edit the user in the user database and set the time to like 9999

What are "battle tags"?

Also, how do custom join messages work? How often do they trigger for an individual?

Battle Tags? They were originally meant for a global database for all deepbot users to use. The battle tags were meant for Blizzard's Battle.net system. Users can add their btag to their account and it would be globally synced across all deepbot clients.

However, this was cancelled and the database was made to be local to each deepbot user separately. It is still usable tho, and you would type !btag Battle#TagHere. Example: !btag Axel#12873

Custom join message settings are based off the Welcome Message settings on the Channel Commands Tab > Event Messages Tab. Basically you can set a command or message for users to have when they join the channel. They should trigger every time the user joins your channel.
