Deepbot Memory/CPU hog with music player
« on: May 10, 2014, 11:19:10 PM »
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but I've noticed that, if you have a large playlist in the music player, the amount of RAM that Deepbot requires shoots up - normally it only needs 200MB or so, but when I have the Music tab selected, and I have about 40-50 songs lined up, this shoots up to about 800MB, and starts consuming a lot of CPU power (CPU went from 30% usage to 65% at one point), enough that I've had to set the affinity for Deepbot to my 7th and 8th processors only (and even then it was topping out those two processors), as it otherwise makes games like Isaac, which rely on Flash, get very bad lag.

This only really started after the 1st May patch, it was fine before then.

Have done some testing and I can reproduce the issue. Looks like the version of the chrome browser I have packaged with DeepBot has a small memory leak when used with Flash which adds up over time.
Issue is they do not have a fix as well.

Will try and see if there is a workaround for this, at the very least I think refreshing the page should release most of the memory.

Thanks for the report!

No worries man, I'd just noticed that it seemed to be making Isaac lag, and narrowed it down to the bot.

Hopefully something can be done, but it's not too bad right now.

There's been a few updates for Chrome since the bot was last patched - any chance any of those fixed the issue? I do seem to have dropped about 1GB worth of memory-hogging by Chrome with their last update.

I'm having the same issue. Usually get 150 FPS in CS:GO with the bot running, now I get 30 and it's unplayable. :(

What percentage of your CPU is being used by the bot, Damage? You can check through the Resource Monitor on Window's Task Manager.

about 50% last time i checked. I'm running the bot on a separate pc now, which sucks because I can't utilize the song request feature :(

I'm actually still having this issue, though it seems to be a little better. Not sure if it's to do with the music player or not, but after an undetermined length of time, Deepbot will always end up using 10% or so of my CPU, causing FPS drop in most games and on OBS for my stream.
