Stream Uptime [ dekap ]
« on: March 27, 2014, 11:00:19 AM »
Look the OBS folder.
Code: [Select]
youtubecurrentsong.txt

wow now i feel stupid. i was thinking about making a new thread for this but i think ill just post it here to save clutter.

ive been thinking about some more functionality that might make this bot even better. for your consideration:

1. a timer counter that can be linked to a command like !stream so it shows how long the user has been streaming for? maybe even a .txt file?

2. more options for the on screen notification for subscribers like text locations. it lets you use a custom image template but you cant allocate where the text should go so it limits template images.

3. a twitch viewer counter

An !uptime command is possible, I'll have to speak with experts about that one.  All of the notifications are fully customizable via CSS, you can read about that here: http://deepbot.deep.sg/wiki/OBS+CLR+Browser&structure=Index&page_ref_id=11 The viewer counter is also something I'd like to see added, as this is pretty much the last step towards replacing the dashboard.

To start and show the uptime timer for the streamer to monitor how long it has streamed. Just like what XanBot has.

Currently Twitch does not show the uptime anywhere using the API

Most bots showing the uptime are using a justin.TV API which twitch does not support and may be decommissioned at any point in time.
As such, this feature is currently not offered by DeepBot.

It should just be a button that you press in the window that starts the timer that is pulled with the command.

Even that should be unnecessary.

Deepbot already tracks when a stream goes online or offline...why not simply set a timer to autostart when the stream is configured to online.  I would recommend maybe a 4-5 minute "offline" threshold before resetting the timer so that uptime counter isn't lost when the stream needs to be swiftly restarted or deepbot has to be reconnected.  But it seems like a simple solution to me.
