1st day experience
« on: January 02, 2015, 01:48:45 PM »
Was able to replace almost everything else which was great! No longer running a whole screen full of programs.
Then I ran it for a stream. Chat failed more than it worked so after about 3 restarts I went back to using chatty. Song request did not work at all so that was kinda useless. no points accumulated since deepbot was not working with the chat so had to add them manually.
All in all, it was a complete disaster. I'm hoping this is a one off and everything will be fine next time. I dont understand why deepbot has such a major issue staying connected to the chat when chatty has no issue at all.
Beta issues I guess.

Next time try changing the chat server to something else, as irc.twitch.tv may be blocked, and/or may have been down when you were streaming.  Also make sure that there were no firewalls blocking connections to and from DeepBot.  Also try changing the port from 6667 as it seems to no longer be supported by Twitch.

You can see which chat server's are currently online at http://twitchstatus.com/

Day 2 - same issues. I grabbed the chat thru OBS so today I decided to not use that or the external chat option. Same issue, within 10mins the bot ignores all commands. It doesn't actually disconnect because the buttons on "config" are still green but "chat" stops logging chat and it doesn't update with people in the room.
Clicking disconnect and then reconnecting fixes this but within 10mins it does it again.

There must be something else I can try, any suggestions are welcome. I dont want to just give up on deepbot.

Hmm, this shouldn't be happening at all.  The problem is most likely being caused by a firewall on you computer/internet.

Try also switching to port 443. A user with a similar issue had success with that.
It is very difficult to diagnose such computer/client network specific issues, given the millions of possible software/configuration combinations that could be causing conflicts.

Keep us updated on the issues, and we can working with you to debug the root cause.
Overall the underlying program is now working for over 2850 streams, so I do not believe the program connection logic is at fault here.

If you feel this is not working for you, I will be happy to grant you a refund on your initial payment for entry.

Regards,
Experts

DAY 3
YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
Not one single issue. If anyone else is having issues I switched to port 443 and port forwarded it.
Now on to making suggestions!!! I am so amped. Really I did not want to give up on this and the offer of a refund shows how commited you are to this bot, but I would have wrestled with this for at least a week before I would have even thought about taking you up on that offer.
