Running 2 Instances of Deepbot (2 separate bot names)
« on: April 14, 2015, 03:06:49 AM »
I love Deepbot and use it as the backbone to MANY things I do in my channel.

My question is, can I run another instance of deepbot under a different bot name? Completely separate and isolated from my main bot?

My goal is to add more games that function outside of the main bot currency I currently use. Something that I can run when the stream is offline to encourage the community (who many hang out in my channel anyway) to chat and play stream games.

Thinking about it, this second instance of the bot would probably not need VIP access, just access to the stream games. I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would technically hold this up.

Has anyone done anything like this before?

Hi there,
the bot is bound to the Streamer Name, so you can't let them join another channel. This means you need two bots on the same Twitch account, but this is not possible. Anyway you would need at least 2 machines to run two bots.

I tried to have two bots on two pc's, it works for short time, then twitch disconnects you and requiers new OAuth tokens. Sometimes when you enter a command that both bots will react to like !bot then sometimes one bot disconnects. So it causes more Problems and disconnects then it would benefit you, trust me.
Hier steht nichts Sinnvolles, dennoch freundliche Grüße. MercurY

Hmm that is kind of disappointing. Can you disabled all default commands on the 2nd bot so the conflict doesnt happen?

Nope, you can't disable them, but still twitch sometimes will cry about the oauth, because you can only have one bot name for the stream name and then two bots with the same oauth will connect to it.
