We've recently moved away from utilizing currency in our channel for giveaways, etc. and into the VIP system to allow for the "luck multipliers" to give perks rather than allowing those with amassed currency rule the giveaways.
We utilize our points system along with subs/resubs to place people into the VIP tiers. Bronze at 5points, Silver at 20, Gold at 40 for example. Subs are auto VIP Bronze. Points are earned at a 1 to 1 rate with donated dollars.
The problem comes from the fact that the current VIP system doesn't seem to update past the initial earning of VIP. Example - Someone donates 5 bucks (enough to reach VIP Bronze) and gets their VIP properly. The next week, they donate enough to reach the next tier (when added to the previous user points), but don't get moved to Silver. At this point, it's all manual for us to move people from level to level.
Also, if a viewer is Silver VIP and subs / resubs, it will set them back to VIP Bronze (because subs initially get VIP Bronze instantly), which is counter-intuitive.
We need a system that is constantly updating akin to the Rank system. Any time a user accumulates points or subs/resubs, have a check that matches the user points database against the VIP ranks and adjusts the user automatically to the right level.
Hope that makes sense. Just need better automation for VIP, as right now, it is way too manual to be much good. Really love the potential though, so hopefully, there is something that can be done here!
