When the music tab is not active - the player automatically stops rendering the video effectively switching to audio only mode from a processing perspective and does not consume resources to render the video.
However, Youtube does not have a feature to fetch only the audio stream, so from a bandwidth perspective the video also needs to be fetched. To minimize impact of this, the video is set to a very low quality by default.
