song skip issues / points not disabling

From what I read in another thread, there is no easy to make it so only moderators can skip songs. Not to mention even IF you somehow give extra points to mods, but not to normal users, normal users can still use the command which should not be allowed. It shouldn't even respond with anything.

Also, even when I disable points on the main page, it somehow gets reset all the time and starts adding points to users. Until now I didn't care, but if you honestly can't give me a nice way for ONLY mods to skip songs without some stupid veto crap then I need this to work correctly.

What you could do is, set Skip Song Veto Count to like 9999 or something really high. Then make a custom command like !ss = !skipsong x and have it for mods only. Although if a viewer already knows the veto command they may be able to do it as well. Although, the mods would have to pay the cost if there is one, could set it to 0 tho.

As for the point disabling, go to Config>Gear (Upper Right Corner)>Uncheck Auto Start Points Timer on Connect. Also if you want to disable points completely, you could also go the 4th option, "Only issue Points to viewers active in chat in the last x mins" and set that to 0.

In response to your second paragraph:
1. Auto Start Points timer on Connect is unchecked
2. Only issue points to viewers active in chat in the last 30 mins is unchecked
3. The points still get enabled somehow

In respond to your first paragraph
1. I can just boost the mods user class point multiplier by a lot and they will naturally float many points correct?
2. It still will give a response in chat "they used x many points" correct? Thus leading people to know that there is a way to skip songs with their points? Thus start asking about it in chat? (which is exactly the kind of thing that takes a very long time to explain to every new person that comes into chat)
3. What is so hard about having an over-ride option for moderators to use the command and it will just immediately skip the song? Better yet, disable the command for common users?

For the fact that this bot has so many amazing features, it blows my mind that simple things like this are overlooked... Aka, the bots I have used (nightbot and moobot) simply had it so mods could skip songs, but you could also enable vetoing if you wanted.

In my case, the moment more viewers find out about "skip song", they are going to be trying hard to use this command, when they need to realize that moderators only should have this ability...

1. I thought you wanted to disable points? You could just edit some of your mods to have a decent number of points.
2. Yes it will. There are some chances that customization to regular commands might come or an option to disable some commands.
3. Most commands are hard coded. But the option to turn it off, may be easy.

I wanted to disable points if there was no way to make it easy for mods only to skip songs. However, I want to use deepbot for raffles though.... If I disable points, this means I can't use the raffle now?

When you say "disable commands", you simply mean get rid of skip song all together? Granted, this is better than nothing, but is it really that hard to model deepbot after nightbot in this regard? I mean, I might be a unique stream here, but I don't like the idea of people spending their time "battling" over trying to skip songs they don't like. Having yet another rule of "don't use this command" is not fun to enforce, because viewers will be wondering why I timed someone out, when all he did was a "legitimate" command....

Give mods like a lot of points. And you can use keyword raffle, or for ticket raffle, you could try setting the cost to 0. That might work.

I mean an option to disable skipsong vote. But you could also set the amount of people to a high number like 1000 or something.

To be completely honest I'm surprised it isn't an option already. Of course I can understand why it is done the way it is done but it's one of those forward thinking things. I believe the original thinking with the whole !skipsong command was that it'd be a stream vote rather then tied to an individual group as music is for the listening pleasure of everyone that is watching.

Of course with that belief in mind I'm sure you can understand why this scenario wasn't considered from the get go. I'll add it to the ideas board on the Trello page and hopefully it'll be pushed through soon.

Yes, I understand this "everyone votes" mentality, but for many streamers (I am certain I am not the only one), we need a way to give our stream a "brand of music". In my case, it is classical and classic rock.

Reopening this for suggestions. Come to find out, a veto override does not work until a songskip has been called...

So this means that my mods have to first do !songskip followed by !songskip 5000..... This is very inconvenient, I hope you all can do something about this soon...
