New Computer & Questions
« on: March 17, 2014, 03:22:45 PM »
Hey there!, I'll be receiving my new computer parts in a few days (Building My own), And I wanted to inquire as to whether or not i'll be able to transfer the DeepBot over without any assistance, I'm curious to know if there's anything that needs to be done on your end to transfer my information over.

While we're already talking, I'd like to inquire into the CPU issues i've been reading about, I couldn't find any updated information as to whether or not you managed to get the CPU usage issue fixed or not, If you could shed any light on that topic it would be much appreciated.

And if you have the link off hand, I'm looking to donate towards trying out your donation notification system:)

Well as you may have noticed I'm terrible at being short and sweet..

Another idea just popped into my mind, a suggestion rather. I've been having an incredible amount of difficulty leaving the music request system on due to the volume changing so much.
One song is incredibly quiet, the other being extraordinarily loud. I was wondering as to whether or not an Equalizer of sorts could be in the works? perhaps something that could be integrated to adjust the volume hands-free. I'm completely unsure if that's even possible. But.. No harm in asking right?

P.s forgive the terrible grammar, My phone hates me

Thanks In advance for your consideration. As you've always done well by me.
Best wishes, and I hope to talk to you soon!

Hey mate - please see answers to your questions below.

1) To transfer the bot simply run the installer in the new computer and copy over the entire folder onto into new computer install directory overwriting the files.

2) A few people have mentioned about CPU usage spikes (2-3 out of 300 streamers using DeepBot), however, I have personally not seen this issue. At most times usage spikes to 10 - 15% at launch and then dip to below 1%. With music player also consuming a few % when being used. As you are aware, the bot is actually doing a number of things in the background to make all the functionality work. So I am not aware, if this this is an issue with older CPU's or a machine specific bug.

3) Link to the donation page : http://deepbot.deep.sg/donate , link to the donation notification thread : http://deepbot.deep.sg/forums/index.php?topic=408.0

4) The way sound works in windows, detecting the application specific sound output and adjust that volume on the fly is a LOT of work and has a lot of system specific issues. So being able to build something across the different versions of windows XP, windows 7 and windows 8 would require a lot of separate sections of coding. Unfortunately, I do not think this would be a viable use of time as we may be talking months of effort on this single feature.
