Userbase random reset?
« on: May 26, 2014, 05:39:09 PM »
So few days ago I noticed my userbase reset out of the blue.
It had been running on my channel for days, some people had hundreds of points and when people I knew did !leebux they had like 10 - needless to say I was baffled.

All gone now for no apparent reason.

Why did this happen and how can I prevent it from happening again?
Quite irritating, didn't know beforehand I was supposed to backup said file(s) regularly.

Hey mate - backups exist in the following folders:
30min interval backups: backups/0/
6hr interval backups: backups/1/
24hr interval backups: backups/2/

To restore a backup:
Close DeepBot
rename current users.bin to users_bak.bin (This is the backup of your current database)
Find the users.bin file with the appropriate timestamp that you want to restore from the backups\ folder and copy it
Paste the file in the main folder (where the original users.bin was)
Rename the backup file to users.bin (removing the timestamp)
Start DeepBot

The latest release has added more security to prevent wipes from file corruption.

Today I got around recovering a backup file.
I ran it few days with reset stats, but it was like 3rd or 4th file and 3rd biggest (got more users on my most recent ones).

It works now, though + I now know how perform a re-roll for backup file if this happens in future.

Kudos!
