Bot will anser only with /me
« on: September 02, 2014, 12:43:07 PM »
I saw today a Deepbot only "answering" in color so it must be /me on twitch. How to set that up? looks way better in the chat as i think.

thanks :)

I know you can do this with your own personal commands. Don't think you can do it with internal commands though.

To do it with your own custom commands (timed or otherwise) add ".me " to the beginning of your message. When using IRC clients this translates it to /me when it reaches the users chat on Twitch. This is also how you can time people out in an IRC client using .timeout <user>

i figured out that it was a other bot as it seems. so if i add .me in the commands like !myrank etc it will use /me on twitch? i would suggest to add a checkbox that all bot messages are /me would be way better to read in active chats.

Yes, if you add .me to messages it will become a nickname message on Twitch which will give it the coloured message. I agree having a checkbox for making a message a nickname message would be beneficial in the long run as you won't need to keep typing .me every time you create a new command. As for each message that Deepbot sends I don't know if this would be the wisest idea in the long run. Unless your bots chosen colour on twitch is legible on both the default and BTTV Dark colour scheme it could be difficult for some users to read specific messages from your bot.

Feel free to make a topic in feature requests though to gauge how interested Deepbot users would be in this. I can't see any harm in adding the option in. I would also suggest adding in the ability to change the bots user colour in that list of options so you can change the bots message colour on the fly.
