Raffle Winner list
« on: October 16, 2014, 12:08:10 AM »
I'm not sure if this has been discussed in a previous post but I would really like to see this feature...

For the raffle feature, I would love to see each winner put into a list so that we could have the option to not include previous winners in upcoming raffles if the streamer chose and have a limit as to how long they could not enter into the next raffle 1 day, 1 week, 1 month etc. I have an issue where sometimes 1 person gets chosen multiple times and it would make life a little easier if I could just exclude them completely for x amount of days.

Rather than setting raffles for winning the prize I suggest going with the !bid command for your purpose.

To show the difference here are some examples:

Quote
Lets say there is Bob, Anne, and Steve.

Bob has 12 currency, Anne has 10 currency, and Steve has 13 currency.

For our raffles, a ticket into the raffle will cost 4 currency. Bob buys 3, Anne buys 2, Steve buys 3.

Now Bob has 0 currency, Anne has 2 currency, and Steve has 1 currency. Bob has a 3/8th chance of winning, Anne has a 2/8th chance of winning, and Steve has a 3/8th chance of winning. Bob and Steve are more likely to win more often than Anne will.

Now to show the difference of bidding:

Bob has 12 currency, Anne has 10 currency, and Steve has 13 currency.

Obviously Steve has the most currency, but for sake of example:

Bob bids 8 currency first, putting him in the lead. Then Anne bids 10 currency, putting her in the lead. Now not to spend more than he needs, Steve bids 11 currency. He's still winning without putting all in, and nobody can best him. So Steve will win.

However, now that Steve has won: Bob has 12 currency, Anne has 10 currency, and Bob has 2 currency. Bob and Anne didn't lose their money because they didn't win the bid, and Bob won't win again because he can't best them.

Unless you're giving away real objects like game codes, shirts, etc; I would recommend going with bidding.
