Deepbot using too much CPU?
« on: February 25, 2014, 12:59:04 AM »
Im kinda new to the bot and i noticed it uses like 25% of my quad core CPU. Thats a problem at some points since i drop some frames. Any idea if i can make it use less cpu? Im mainly interested in the point and raffle system. No music, no chat, no custom commands.

put a house fan on high and point it at your CPU... seriously not Joking. it will keep you from losing frames. or get a corsair 110i CPU Cooler.

My PC has very good cooling the problem is my CPU is not enough to stream new games so i end up droping frames. This did not happen with my old bot but its because it did not had all the options deep bot has. I think its time to update my 5-6 year old CPU for a new one.  ::)

I'm interested in looking in to this a bit more. Even with a AMD Phenom II X4 965 that seems abnormally high. Let me know if you are free to chat on Skype or use teamviewer, so I can get a more clear picture of the cause of this.

How much CPU and RAM does the bot appear to be using?

200MB ram and 10%~ CPU but it seems to be having a much heavier effect on the computer cause i only feel it while bot i running

Well, if you're at the upper limits of your CPU usage while streaming it's possible this can push you over the edge and start causing lag in your games.  If you'd like we can go over your broadcast settings to find something more suitable to having lots of programs up while streaming, while not losing any quality.

talked to people on OBS and i basically cant lower my settings without losing quality, i have the minimum for best quality, which means i cant run the bot on the same system as stream and my gaming :/

and i dont have a secondary computer :/

So basically im not gonna be able to use the bot unless i could find someone who could run the bot on their computer for me

Just for the record, I run deepbot on a 3 year old i5-750 while streaming 720p with no difficulties.  You may want to examine other things running on your pc as well like antivirus software and things of that nature, that have been known to cause slow down.  I've not heard other reports of deepbot causing slowdown on people's computers.  I do hope you find a solution however.
