Few Questions Regarding Beta/Release/Price
« on: May 30, 2014, 11:24:43 PM »
Hey guys,

Sorry if this information is already available but a quick search didn't provide any returns. Just a quick few questions regarding Deepbot.

What is the plan for release? I'd be more than happy to donate and get access (if that's still available) but I want to ensure it's something permanent on our channel so our viewers get used to it. Is it going to have a subscription fee? One off purchase?

In regards to current beta, I understand that the minimum donation gives access but is that for a limited time or does it limit the features?

How customizable are the features? I really like the idea of the bank heist system but are we able to tweak it to be more suited to our channel? Change the text and whatnot basically.

I stumbled upon the bot after watching http://www.twitch.tv/vgzilix stream yesterday as it mentioned Deep Bot in one of the bot messages, however I cannot seem to locate the stream on your list. If anyone could confirm it is the same program, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, many thanks!

Hey There

Release plans are still not finalised. I am still working on making this the most complete solution and adding features progressively.
Given the infrastructure costs, it will most likely not be a free to use solution.

Currently a $10 donation gets you access to the beta till the beta lasts. Additionally, there are a few exclusive features which require a monthly subscription of $5 or more. These are detailed here: http://deepbot.deep.sg/wiki/VIP+Streams

As for customisations, some features are customisable, whereas others are not yet editable. Currently changing the text for bank heist is not supported.

Lastly, I can confirm vgzilix is part of the DeepBot beta.

I was going to ask similar questions, Just wanted to say thanks. Quick question, I just donated, in hopes to get into the beta. How long usually does it take to get a copy of the bot for use? Thanks :)

Hey Experts,

Many thanks for getting back to me with the information. Sorry to bother you but is there any chance you could lay out some potential launch plans? I wouldn't expect Deep Bot to be free as it's one of the best I've found, but I'm also not going to be willing to spend $30 a month or something similar. Do you guys have an upper limit or anything like that?

In regards to the customization options. Are these available via editing of the bot if that's available or is it something we have to wait to be implemented?

Thanks again!

I think an answer of this will probably help with getting interest too, a lot of people seem worried about getting used to a bot for it to become an unreasonable price (although I guess that is different for each person) and have to call it quits with the bot; so they may as well make it easier on the viewers and not bother with it.

It could be a good idea to create a rough estimate plan perhaps?

While I can't go into specifics at this point, I will say I want to make this application as inclusive as possible.
There are still a few technical infrastructure hurdles I need to overcome, before I have full clarity over how things will shape up.

That being said, the most likely release structure I am thinking around, would include three features:
  • Basic features for a fairly low cost, with premium features purchasable on demand. Pick and choose what you need for your stream, or get it all if thats what you are looking for!
  • Ability to scale with the stream. A structure that is fairly low cost for smaller streams. However as your streams grow and consume more resources, your "plan" scales to keep up with your growth.
  • Referral benefits. If your stream brings people to the DeepBot eco-system, you will get credits to subsidise your stream costs.
Happy to hear feedback, as I do value all inputs.

Thanks again for your time Experts, it's very much appreciated :D

I think I'm going to hold out until release as I can quite easily see full functionality to potentially be very expensive based on tiered/usage scaling. Last thing we want to do is introduce the bot to our community and then take it away at some point down the line.

All the best.

Is it not possible to just buy rights to use the bot and host it on our own VPS? Instead of paying per month for the hosting on your server?

You could even do like beta, $10 for the bot, and with any patches to add to the bot (rather than bug fixes) charge $5 for the updated version, that way people can decide when to update or not if it's worth it to them?
(Just an idea to keep some coming in)

You won't use your own VPS space then too.

The design of DeepBot is more than just a program. It is an eco-system that will continue to grow.
It is a hybrid of server hosted services and client hosted connectivity. Running it as a standalone disconnected from the backbone network is not possible.
