Deepbot says its already running
« on: June 03, 2014, 03:24:16 AM »
So I got Deepbot yesterday and I really like it but have had only one problem with it so far. When I try to start it sometimes it comes up with a dialogue box that says "Deepbot is already running!" when it is not. I check the system tray (I think thats what the hidden icon thing at the bottom right of the desktop is called) and and its not showing Deepbot's icon there and then I check my task manager and it says that deepbot is not running. The only way to fix it is to reboot my computer and then launch deepbot immediately when it restarts. But I was wondering if there was a more convenient way of getting it running. Thank you!

When you opened task manager, did you check the processes tab for Deepbot.exe?

After some research it seems that the processes tab in Windows 7 is in fact Details in Windows 8 (Weird change to me but whatever).

Next time it happens have a look in there for Deepbot.exe and let me know the results :)

Ohhhh thank you! I see three instances of deepbot running in the details tab. But now it won't let me end the process in task manager, I think thats a Windows 8 problem, so Ill look into that myself. Thanks again

Hello, I'm having the same problem only I can't end the task . keeps saying 'operation cannot be completed. Access denied.' I'm the only user and administrator on this pc so I don't know what to do.

Restart your PC fully. It has been known for processes to survive the restart process in RAM due to how later versions of windows achieve their fast booting times. Probably restart into safe mode to help completely clear the list.

Thanks,
