I tunr off link protection, and the bot still purges links. So I turn on link protection and set it to all subs/vips can post links, and it still purges them. Any ideas?

Are you sure it is the bot? I would try posting links without deepbot open to verify.
You may have to disable and re-enable link protection for new settings to kick in.
